Rothay Manor’s restaurant, Rowan, is led by Michelin-starred chef Simon Ulph, whose experience in some of the UK’s most celebrated kitchens brings a refined and ambitious approach to dining in the Lake District.

Having played a key role in securing a Michelin star at The Stafford alongside Michael Caines, Simon’s career also includes time at renowned restaurants such as The Ledbury, St Leonards, Climat and Northcote.

His cooking at Rowan is rooted in modern British cuisine, complemented by subtle European and Japanese influences. Menus are guided by the seasons, showcasing exceptional local produce and a strong sense of place.
